Pre-Market Briefing & Execution Log | 2026-10-23

Part 1: Previous Session Review

Yesterday’s session was productive on paper but still finished in the red: 6 trades, 4 wins and 2 losses, with a net result of -29.9 pips across US500, EURUSD, NAS100 and US30. That kind of scoreline is a useful reminder that win rate alone does not pay the bills; position sizing, average loss and timing around volatility matter just as much.

The index trades carried most of the movement, but the tape was not especially clean. US500 and NAS100 both showed pockets of momentum, yet follow-through was uneven and reversals punished late entries. EURUSD remained more measured, with less urgency and tighter ranges compared with the equity indices. Overall, the session was manageable, but not forgiving.

From a risk perspective, the main takeaway is simple: when the market is choppy, reducing exposure after the first few trades is often more valuable than trying to force a recovery. A small losing day is acceptable if the process stays intact.

Part 2: Today’s Outlook & Watchlist

There is no high-impact red news scheduled today, so the market may lean more heavily on technical structure, liquidity flows and the reaction around prior session highs and lows. That does not mean volatility disappears; it simply means we should be careful about assuming a strong catalyst-driven trend will appear on demand.

For the watchlist, US500 remains the primary focus. I want to see whether price can hold above yesterday’s key intraday support zones or whether sellers use early strength to fade the move. Clean acceptance above resistance would support continuation trades, but failed breakouts should be treated with caution.

EURUSD is the second asset to monitor. Without major news, I will be looking for range behaviour first: controlled pullbacks, liquidity sweeps and confirmation before entry. If the pair stays compressed, patience is the edge. The best setup today may come from waiting for the market to show its hand rather than anticipating a breakout too early.

In short, today’s plan is to trade lighter, respect the absence of major catalysts and avoid turning a quiet calendar into an excuse for overtrading.
