Friday’s session was controlled rather than busy. We took 2 trades, finishing with 1 win and 1 loss, for a net result of +224.6 pips across GBPJPY and XAUUSD. The positive close came from staying selective and not forcing follow-through once the better part of the move had already been priced.
GBPJPY remained the cleaner momentum vehicle, while XAUUSD required more patience around intraday reversals. The main takeaway is simple: the market rewarded discipline, but it did not offer a broad, easy trend environment across every setup.
With no high-impact news scheduled ahead, early-week conditions may be more technical and liquidity-driven. That does not mean risk disappears. It means we should respect range boundaries, wait for confirmation, and avoid assuming that quiet calendars automatically produce clean price action.

Crypto spent the week in a more selective phase, with BTC, ETH, and SOL showing different levels of participation. The broader message was not outright panic, but neither was it a clean risk-on expansion. Traders had to separate genuine continuation from short bursts of positioning.
BTC remains the main gauge for market confidence. As long as Bitcoin holds its higher-timeframe structure, dips are likely to be treated as rotation rather than a full trend failure. Still, momentum needs follow-through; a slow grind without volume can leave late buyers exposed.
ETH traded with a slightly more conditional tone. It continues to attract interest when the market is constructive, but it has not consistently led the tape. For Ethereum, the key is whether buyers can defend pullbacks and convert resistance tests into sustained acceptance rather than quick rejection.
SOL stayed the higher-beta name of the group. That makes it attractive when crypto sentiment improves, but it also means downside moves can travel faster. For SOL, position sizing matters more than opinion. The opportunity is there, but volatility can punish loose entries.
For the week ahead, the crypto plan is straightforward: let BTC define the base tone, watch ETH for confirmation, and treat SOL as the momentum expression only when conditions are aligned. Until breadth improves, patience remains more valuable than prediction.
